  • Some sightseeing that is worth visiting:
  1. The Museum of Bouboulina, a traditional mansion that was the home of a famous heroine of the Greek Revolution.
  2. Highlight!-> The impressive Cave of Bekiris: This is one of the most iconic caves in Greece, known as the cave of film-makers and lovers. The beauty of the cave can fascinate easily every visitor but there is a catch! It’s a little bit difficult to reach the cave as you have to take the trekking path through a pine forest or by boat. Moreover, when you reach the cave you will notice that its entrance is very low, so you will have to swim to get into it but one thing is for sure: the scenery of the cave will totally compensate you for all of your troubles! As you reach the interior, you will notice a little dreamy sandy beach with emerald blue waters and both stalactites and stalagmites surrounding the place and forming peculiar and extraordinary shapes attributing to Bekiris Cave an idyllic and romantic atmosphere ideal for lovestruck couples!
  3. Hatziyiannis Mexis Mansion on Spetses: the Archontiko (Mansion) of Mechi is an exquisite 200-year-old building built during 1795-1798 belonged to the island’s first governor. A walk through the old, traditional villa can transfer you back in its glorious times, in the Greek Revolution of 1821, during which this house was a hub of activity. Visiting the Archontiko you have the opportunity to see some traditional costumes, weaponry (guns and ammunition) as well as household artifacts. Nowadays Archontiko houses Spetses Museum, in which relics and archaeological finds from the island with its 4,000-year-old history are preserved and displayed.
